A Christmas Pageant “The Camels” Two Camel Patterns about 13 1/2 x 10 inches.
This is the final pattern set in a series of 5 depicting the traditional pageantry of the First Christmas.
Two children who come to mind when I was designing the camel patterns are Lisa and Carl . . . squabbling brother and sister . . . twins, no less! They always reminded me of the Campbell Soup kids from the late 50s and early 60s. Other than being a boy and a girl, they were the mirror image of each other. Great kids. But, what kind of costume could we come up with for camels?? Their father said not to worry. He had an idea. And, what a great idea it was! Fashioned from cardboard and painted with a airbrush with hair fashioned from the old-fashioned string mops, Lisa and Carl were magically transformed into camels! They were two little pixies bouncing around on stage as very rambunctious, but absolutely adorable, camels.
